The Thessalonians were experiencing difficult times, but Paul told them to stand firm. The Word of God they had received and accepted had been preparing them to endure suffering. If we wait until suffering comes, it’s already too late. But if we let the Word of God sink deeply into our lives in preparation of times to come, it will be there when we really need it. What is God doing in your life? What is the Word of God showing you? What does your time in the Word look like? What is it developing or strengthening in you so you can stand firm when hard times come into your life?
