In this passage, Paul is defending himself and his ministry against accusations being made of him, and he responds by saying he cares so deeply for the people of Thessalonica that he went there personally to share the gospel with them. He loved them, and all he wanted was for them to know about Jesus. That same proclamation of love and the gospel ought to be ours as well. Imagine what it could be like if we, as a community of faith, really entered into people’s lives to love each other, care for each other, pray for each other, encourage each other and walk with one another as we proclaim Christ.
