Ultimately, a corrupt spiritual life will yield a corrupt view of God. God will become an accessory to life – just a wonderful addition to what we've already got set up. This corruption will show itself in what we value and can be traced through where we spend our resources. God wants all of us: our hopes and fears, gifts and talents, resources and passion – everything. However, due to our corrupt spiritual life, we fall victim to the sin of materialism and consumerism, hording resources as if they were ours to begin with. In so doing, we rob God of what is already His.
