This week we will look at the general failure of the kings to worship, pray or enjoy God’s Word. The vast majority of these kings do not worship God or pray to Him, and although a few of them find the Scriptures and experience revival, the rest of them are a mess. But the overflow of the gospel is the pursuit of intimacy with God in prayer, submission to God through obedience to His Word, and delighting in God through worship. When we allow the gospel to work in our lives and build a spiritual foundation with these things, we can endure the weight of whatever life throws at us. Without them, as we saw over and over with the kings, difficult times end in calamity.
