As the crowds gathered around Him, Jesus had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd (Matthew 9:36). He then called the disciples to be His ambassadors, to preach the good news of the kingdom – that the King had come, and He would one day rule and reign forever. As followers of Christ, we are also called to be ambassadors for Him, being kingdom-minded people who are aware of what we were saved from and what we have been saved to as we share the gospel with others in anticipation of His return.
