The Elders and Leaders of our church have decided the most loving, socially responsible, and God-honoring thing that we can do as a church body is to engage in social distancing to mitigate the spread of coronavirus COVID-19.
At this time, we are asking that all Well Community Church gatherings – large and small, including Midweek and Sunday corporate gatherings, High School, Middle School, Friday Night Hangs, Life Groups, ReGeneration Recovery, I Heart Fresno, Active Membership, Exposure Trip Training, Seder Supper, etc. be postponed until Easter weekend, April 11-12.
As you know, this is a fluid situation and new information is provided daily. Therefore, the Elders will continue to monitor guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization, and local health officials and make adjustments to our social distancing plans as required. We will communicate any changes as immediately as we can.

While we are taking a pause with all Well-sponsored gatherings, we want to care well for our community and be fully present for those in need. In this time of uncertainty, let’s be reminded that helping people connect to God and to each other in every neighborhood is why we exist, therefore, we will continue to:
Worship.
While we are not gathering as a congregation, we encourage you and your family to set aside time to worship. To aid you in this, we will be creating online content for you to experience with your family and in doing so, help us stay connected as a church. We will continue to worship through song, preaching and teaching of God's word, and creating discussion opportunities for you to enjoy in your home.
These online resources and our Sunday experience will be made available every Sunday morning on The Well Church App or at thewellcommunity.org. These resources can be streamed to your television through the device of your choosing, or simply enjoyed from your phone.
We are praying that these times remind us that the church is the people – not the building. And as the body assembles, even in homes throughout our community, we are not forsaking our own assembling together but rather embracing the unique circumstances we are currently facing.
Equip.
We are also curating resources that can be utilized in your home including Life Group Discussion Guides, as well as lessons and crafts for kids. We can also provide access to Right Now Media for those looking for additional content.
Care.
Stay connected to your church pastor and church family through:
Our pastors and staff are readily available to care for those in need of prayer, pastoral help and physical assistance. In addition, we are putting together a team that can aid in grocery shopping for the disabled, elderly, and those who are at the greatest risk of infection from COVID-19.
While providing spiritual care for those in need, we will create various resources, devotionals, and other helpful content on our social media platforms. Though we are socially distancing physically, we will be increasing our availability and connection virtually.
Serve.
Again, we desire to be the hands and feet of Christ, willing to care for those in need. As these needs surface in our community, we will be assigning tasks to those who are interested in helping. Thus, the body will be caring for the body in our city.
It is also our desire to reflect the gospel in our generosity. In this time of uncertainty, we will continue to support the various vendors whom we have contracted. We realize that many of these companies provide the livelihood of hourly employees who will be impacted by a reduction of services required. We are committed to helping support these families by continuing our partnership even though we have paused gatherings and closed the office.
Finally, as a reflection of Christ in our city, we have a profound opportunity to put our faith on display during crisis. Historically speaking, Christians have shined in crisis. We have endured persecution, plague, pestilence, famine, war, genocide, and calamity of all sorts. Now we stand in the face of our own relative crisis. What an opportunity for our church to demonstrate generosity, to pray for our community, to share with those in need, to look for opportunities to help the vulnerable, to actively care for those in need. Remember, Jesus not only met spiritual needs but also the physical. Yes, we can pray, but we can also look for opportunities to help those in need. As the world is looking for faith, hope, and love – may they find it here!
