The Costa Rica team has been doing so many fun activities the last few days. School is out right now and the kids are all on summer break for the few weeks that we are here doing God's work. The Social Service team has been working at their job site in a neighborhood called Los Fuentos. While at their center, they have been involved in aerobics, hiking trips, tables games, tutoring the children in English and just loving on the kids.
On Thursday the Sports/Rec and Social Service teams had the opportunity to hike a mountain through the rainforest hills outside of San Jose. The hike was about 5 miles each way and quite the challenge. The rainy season has turned the dirt paths into mud, and the elevation difference from California makes it harder to breathe and catch a breath while exercising. The teams really pulled together and helped each other out along the way, sharing laughs as we all got a little dirty.
Despite the challenges we have faced we are all able to see how God has been working in Costa Rica, especially through Students International. I know that we can't wait to continue doing God's work while being exposed to the Costa Rican food, culture and people. #PuraVida15
