I knew this India trip was going to be a stretching trip for our team because this was the first one that was solely about sharing our faith. Honestly, I sometimes struggle with the effectiveness of street evangelism when you don't remain in the community to disciple and equip those who accept Christ through these efforts. Thankfully I am confident that the Cru team in Darjeeling will walk with the people there well. The one thing I was looking forward to though was the impact this trip could have on our team when we return. I have participated in trips like these before and have always grown in my boldness in sharing when I returned home. My greatest desire for this trip was that my team would have a similar experience.
My greatest prayer has already been answered! I received this group message this morning from one of our team members: "Hey guys! So I was telling my best friend about our trip and about Jesus last night and she decided to accept Christ so we prayed together and she got saved last night!" Praise God! Grateful for short-term trips that can have long-term impacts on those who go and the community they return to. I hope this encourages you today as much as it did me.
Please continue to pray for our team as we debrief, process our experience with family and friends, and get rid of any lingering jet lag. From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers through the past six months. We are thankful for a church family that generously gave and rallied around us as we prepared to go and when we were there.
