Our summer team went to Costa Rica to work with Students International (SI). SI is located in the southern part of the capital city, San Jose, in several communities in and around Desamparados. Literally translated, "desamparados" means "the forgotten ones", and that is how the communities are seen by most. But they are not forgotten; they are loved by Jesus! SI's staff are serving in various ministry sites to share the hope and love of Jesus with as many people as they can. Students International's ministry in Costa Rica began in 2008, and has continued to reach the people of the community as they start new ministry sites and find tangible ways to meet needs.

We supported SI’s ongoing ministry sites including Women's Fitness, Microfinance, and Sports & Recreation. The trip was formed around the needs of the long-term team and Extended Family already serving in Costa Rica and the skills of our team. This was The Well’s ninth Exposure Trip with SI.

- Saturday 7/10 Excursions to see a different aspect of the country and culture

On our excursion, we went to the beach and then went ziplining through the rain forest!
What we Learned
We saw God move in so many ways when we were in Costa Rica. It was incredible to see how God was already moving in Desemparados, and it was incredible partnering with SI to get to play a small role in their long-term work.
